New Apps

Adding a new app to Parse on Buddy is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Create an account at the Parse on Buddy Dashboard. You will receive an account verification email; please follow the instructions to verify your account.
  2. Next, log in, and create an app.
  3. Add the latest Parse on Buddy Client SDK to your client apps.
    • Android: To add the Parse on Buddy SDK to your Android project, please see https://buddy.com/mobile-backend/Android.
    • iOS: To add the SDK to your iOS project use the Cocoapods dependency manager; add the ‘Parse’ pod name to your app’s Podfile. Here’s an example:

      platform :ios, "7.0"
      target "MyXcodeProject" do
        pod "Parse"
      end

    • Other platforms: For other SDKs see http://docs.parseplatform.org/
  4. Now configure the SDK to talk to Parse on Buddy:
    • The Parse on Buddy API URL is: https://api.parse.buddy.com/parse/. The trailing slash is necessary. For details on how to set this in the client SDK configuration, see here.
    • You also need to supply your Parse on Buddy app ID. In your Parse on Buddy Dashboard, navigate to your app, click on App Settings, and then Security & Keys. You will see your app’s Application ID.

Additionally, you may want to take advantage of features that require additional configuration, like cloud code, push, and more. See https://buddy.com/mobile-backend/configuration/ for more details.

Once configuration is complete, test, then publish your app to the app stores!
