Dividing his time between San Francisco and Tel Aviv, Richard (Rick) Borenstein is a venture investor, advisor and board member with over 40 years of technology company experience. Rick brings extensive business, finance, accounting and entrepreneurial skills to Buddy Platform.
Rick grew up in New York City, and attended the University of Michigan before going to Harvard Business School. He has taught entrepreneurship at the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan and at San Quentin Prison (SF Bay Area) as part of The Last Mile program.
David is the co-founder, CEO and Executive Director of Buddy Technologies. Before launching Buddy, David gained extensive international business experience, spending nearly 11 years at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA in the hardware, software and development teams. Prior to moving to the US, David was a management consultant for PwC in Australia. David holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering (Hons) from the University of South Australia.
Paul is the Company’s Vice President of Software Engineering, where he is responsible for leading Buddy’s software engineering teams for mobile app development and cloud infrastructure development. Based in Brisbane, Paul has recently taken on the role of enterprise architect driving initiatives to improve core business systems across different business units. Paul spent 17 years consulting globally across different technologies and industries prior to joining Buddy. Paul holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology.
Based in Melbourne, Jim is the Company’s Senior Director of eCommerce, in which capacity he is responsible for the LIFX direct-to-consumer eCommerce business globally, including business planning, digital marketing, web analytics and web technologies. Most recently, Jim has been working on online conversion optimisation within the LIFX websites and app to align to the increasing global demand for online shopping, driven by the COVID pandemic. Jim has over 15 years of experience leading digital marketing and eCommerce initiatives internationally for some of the Australia leading retailers, including Aesop and Cotton On.
Vicky Allinson has over 30 years’ accounting, auditing and corporate governance experience, including senior positions in a number of listed companies and audit manage for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. In addition, Vicky has gained professional experience while living and working in both Australia and the United Kingdom. She has significant experience acting for ASX listed companies as chief financial officer and/or company secretary, and has also assisted a number of companies to list on the ASX.
