Sales Operations Executive EMEA located in Dublin, Ireland

The Sales Operations Executive is responsible for all sales and commercial support within the Buddy Platform EMEA business, incorporating the distribution of Buddy Ohm Energy Monitoring solutions and LIFX Smart LED Lighting.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director, EMEA, with a dotted line responsibility to the Global Sales Operations Manager (US based). The role requires a rounded individual with strong inside sales, operational and commercial ability, likely from a sales operations or inside sales role today in a leading Retail, IT, Telecoms or Energy organisation.

Today, the combined products of Buddy (www.buddy.com) and LIFX (www.eu.lifx.com) are distributed through a growing base of Distributors, Resellers, and large Retailers across the Globe. Specifically in Europe, our business is moving at pace as we expand across the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and onwards across Eastern Europe and Russia. On the Buddy side of the business, our solutions are sold to Enterprise customers, and on the LIFX side, our products are sold through online and offline Retailers to domestic consumers (for example Amazon, Curry’s PC World, MediaMarkt, Bauhaus, Fnac, Darty, Boulanger, Elkjop, CoolBlue, BOL.com etc).

The Sales Operations Executive will support the team of in country sales managers, and selected large distributors, in managing our sales function. Predominately office based in south west Dublin, the role offers flexible working conditions with an ability to work partially from home. Some international travel to support customers will be expected from time to time, and a future expansion of the role and responsibilities is possible as the business in Europe is growing at a substantial pace. The Sales Operations Executive will also track the sales pipeline with leading partners, and facilitate training and development to partners to accelerate business growth across the region (with our global shared service teams).

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the sales office, ensuring a smooth flow to our business and ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service to our wide base of European customers. Tracking, measuring and controlling the service levels delivered to customers by internal and external service providers.
  • Management of logistics across Europe, including stock control, warehousing, importation, freight, tax, legal etc., in conjunction with our existing Warehouse and Distribution partners in Ireland, the UK and the Netherlands. Working in conjunction with our Australian based logistics team, and Hong Kong based fulfilment agencies.
  • Provide office support for all other Internal systems including our Cloud IT environments – Hubspot, Email, Stock management, Invoicing, Credit Control, etc and working closely with our Australian based financial team in all aspects of the business.
  • Source, develop and manage all operational areas of the business, including for example Connectivity, SIM card management, Retail displays, Merchandising, Field sales training  etc
  • The selection, training and management of partners across Europe as we scale up the business, including initial installation and ongoing system support for some of our Enterprise solutions (with support from our global operations team)
  • Supporting Field operations, including sales partners, and all the work identified in conjunction with Global Operations, define and manage all procurement processes, vendor management & quality areas of the business

 Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Sales Operations or Sales Management experience, in a Retail orientated IT, Telecoms or Energy organisation, with some exposure to Marketing and development of Go to Market plans in a regional organisation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or acquired business acumen in sales and commercial operations, with additional capabilities in channel marketing and marketing communications an advantage.
  • Strong problem solving analytical skills and customer-facing skills and the ability to create and manage relationships at all levels of a customer facing organization.
  • Comfortable with mainstream Microsoft Office and Google Office applications, with user level knowledge of leading CRM, Financial and ERP systems.
  • Comfortable with data management and supporting the accounts team with Stock Control, Purchase Order, Invoicing, Creditor and Debtor management in financial management systems (training provided by global team)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the EU with either citizenship or permanent residency.

A day in the life of our Sales Operations Executive……..

Onboard a new consumer retailer: Our French sales team have just landed an exciting opportunity to launch LIFX Smart Lighting in a leading French DIY Retailer. You need to support the team in France, along with the design team in Melbourne to design, build and deliver a world class feature display and have this installed in 100 stores within 6 weeks. We have also agreed to conduct in store training in 10 store locations in French in weeks 7-8….and need to get 10,000 bulbs shipped from our warehouse in Tilburg to the customer warehouse in Rennes…….

Onboard a new enterprise partner: Our Norwegian team have appointed a new Energy Management company to sell the Buddy Ohm energy measurement solution in Norway. You need to support the launch and ensure that equipment is shipped from the Dublin warehouse in time for the onsite training. You will need to work with the team in Seattle to ensure the new partner is set up on our CRM system and set up a remote training meeting with the customer sales and technical teams……


Full Stack Developer – Seattle, WA

We’re looking for a full stack developer who is excited about technology and would like to solve problems involving a range of technologies.

Do you want to work on real products that have a cult following among loyal customers? Do you want to work in cross functional teams that solve and ship real user stories every week?

This role will be based out of our Seattle office and focused on our Airstream project, which involves turning the iconic Airstream trailer into a smart trailer. The first smart Airstreams have started shipping out of the factories and we have lots more cool work to do.

The project is delivered using Scrum and the team has a wide range of skills. The project involves working on a set of native mobile apps, a web portal and our cloud platform.

We’re a start-up, publicly traded on the Australian Stock Exchange. So have the kind of impact on the company’s product, culture, and direction that you get at a start-up, but also get stock grants of publicly traded stock, and working hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Be flexible and willing to embrace change
  • Collaborate with feature crew engineers (pair-programming as appropriate) to plan and deliver user stories every week or two
  • Collaborate with peer leads and the heads of Product and Engineering to shape the direction of features and the product at large
  • Apply your intellectual and emotional intelligence to resolve ambiguity and find the right path forward
  • Share DevOps and QA responsibilities within the team

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience plus 3+ years’ industry experience in software engineering (frontend, backend, or otherwise)
  • Ability to apply software engineering principles to solve problems with a focus on simplicity and maintainability
  • Passion for learning
  • Passion for communicating clearly and respectfully
  • Experience with Scrum is a plus
  • Ability to work in two or three of the following areas: web, mobile, cloud
  • A strong background in QA is strongly desired
  • Experience as an SDET or with test automation highly regarded
